Level 3 Award in Assessing Competence in the Work Environment
The TQUK Level 3 Award in Assessing Competence in the Work Environment is for individuals who are responsible for evaluating the display of competence in the workplace. Observation, examination of work items, oral questioning and discussion, use of others (e.g. witnesses), learner statements, and Recognition of Prior Learning are some of the assessment methods that can be used (RPL).
A nationally recognised qualification is the TQUK Level 3 Award in Assessing Competence in the Work Environment. The qualification improves learners' employability, which can lead to internal progression or give an entrance point into new training/coaching roles if they are already working. Learners, Trainers/Assessors, Coaches, and Tutors are commonly employed. Learners can also become self-employed as a Freelance Assessor, working for a variety of clients.
Who should complete the course?
This certificate is appropriate for those who want to begin assessing in the workplace or for those who are already assessing in the workplace but need a nationally recognised qualification to advance their careers. Childcare, construction, leisure, teaching, hair and beauty, and hospitality are some of the areas that have a significant demand for skilled assessors.
How will I study?
A workbook, a portfolio of evidence, and observation of vocational competence will be used to assess the qualification. Each learner must provide portfolio evidence for each unit that indicates achievement of all learning outcomes and assessment criteria.
The amount of time it takes you to finish the framework is totally dependent on your commitment and motivation to complete the assignments. A Level 3 Award in Assessing Competence in the Work Environment is typically completed in 3-6 months.
