individuals who are not currently teaching and training but who can meet the practice requirements, including the observed and assessed practice
requirements of the qualification
individuals who are currently teaching and training, including those who have just begun teaching and training and who can meet the practice requirements,
including the observed and assessed practice requirements, of the qualification
individuals currently working as assessors who wish to achieve a teaching qualification and who can meet the practice requirements, including the
observed and assessed practice, of the qualification.
The online DET means that you can start at any time, and access the course materials and assessments at times to suit you. Most students complete the DET within 6 months.

Students are required to complete 7 units that take a deeper look into the teaching theories and models, developing learning and assessment skills, developing and organising resources in a specialist area, wider professional development in education and training, and an Action Research Project.

Students must be aged 19 and over, and should already be in a teaching position – you need to produce evidence of 100 hours of teaching practice (including 8 hours of observations of teaching practice) that are logged and signed off by their line manager.

Teaching Practice and Observations
You will need to produce evidence of 100 hours of teaching practice which will include 8 observations adding up to 8 hours.

The 8 observations required for the Diploma in Education and Training are an assessment of the materials you create, your interactions with your learners and the professional discussions that occur between you the candidate and the assessor.

The teaching hours can be completed anywhere but must be carried out by a qualified teacher, and evidence of development needs to be provided over a period of time.

Remote observations are possible by virtual means i.e via webcam, however video evidence is not accepted, it must be live. You will need to explain why a direct observation was not possible.

LEVEL 5 DIPLOMA IN EDUCATION AND TRAINING (DET)
Ref: CDMOBS24

The Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training is designed for those who are already working in the education field or for those who do not yet work in the field but have a lot of experience and want to formalise it with a formal certificate. The course is a 120-credit qualification approved by Qualifi, an Ofqual-accredited organisation.

Through a combination of academic study and practical practise, students will develop the expertise and knowledge needed to achieve the standards during this course. Our 9 online modules will give the theoretical knowledge. During a placement in a real-world teaching role, the practical activity will be carried out. This can be a role that the student already has or one that they find throughout the course of their study with OBS, and it can be at a school, college, or community organisation - the only requirement is that there must be a mentor at the placement who can support and verify the students work.

A combination of 9 online multiple-choice examinations and 7 written assignments will be used to assess this curriculum. These written assignments will be divided into several parts, each of which will include a Part A and a Part B. Part A will be based on academic content found on the internet, while Part B will be based on the student's own personal experiences during their teaching placement. Parts A and B can be performed independently, so students won't need to wait for a teaching placement to start working on their written tasks. They will, however, require a placement to finish them.

This course will prepare students to teach in a variety of settings. Students will be able to organise and implement schemes of work, develop teaching and learning strategies, and teach effectively in public and private schools, colleges, and universities in many countries across the world after successfully completing this course.

Once students have completed this course and obtained their QTLS, we have teamed with T15 International to assist students in finding their ideal teaching position.
