GCSE PSYCHOLOGY 

 

 

This engaging and effective qualification introduces students to the fundamentals of psychology, developing critical analysis, independent thinking and research skills. 

 

Teacher assessments are continuous during LIVE TAUGHT lessons, marking of coursework and assignments and summative tests. This qualification is linear, which means students will sit all their exams at the end of the course. 

 

Homework will be given at the end of each week, usually in the form of problems to solve, researching key concepts.

Hi my name is Alisdair and I'm the head of the psychology Deparment. I have extensive experience in teaching and researching psychology. My teaching style relies on honesty, patience and transparency. My students tend to do very well indeed in their examinations when they study and work hard. I play tennis regularly and am a sports enthusiast in general. 

 

The course will follow the current AQA GCSE specifications. 

The course will be based on the textbooks recommended for AQA GCSE psychology. 

 

This specification enables learners to develop their understanding of all aspects of psychology providing a firm basis from which to springboard into A-level and beyond.

Parents are responsible for arranging their child's examinations at their local registered examination centre. Students study from every part of the globe and so it is not practical for the school to offer a single venue to sit examinations. The provider, alongside; Edexcel, OCR, AQA and will support students in locating a suitable venue for sitting their written and practical examinations.
